We are specialists in supporting people with dyslexia and other literacy learning difficulties, to Read, Write and achieve Success!
At Read Write Success we understand that for many students, learning to read and write is a big challenge that leads to anxiety, low self-esteem and sometimes school refusal. We are passionate about providing evidence-based intervention to help our students develop their reading and writing skills and to boost their confidence.
At the initial consultation we take this opportunity to learn as much as we can about our students. This includes finding out about their interests, strengths and challenges at school, and personal goals they may have. We then conduct a diagnostic MSL assessment. Following the session, we provide feedback to you and set learning goals for our MSL sessions.
Our MSL sessions are explicit, direct and follow a systematic scope and sequence based on the MSL approach. In a typical lesson, we focus on the 5 important elements of reading success – phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Depending on your child’s individual goals, we may also target handwriting, grammar and sentence structure. In our lessons we use quality resources that make learning with us, engaging and fun!
We can provide MSL sessions face to face or online via ZOOM
SUPPORT FOR HOME
We encourage our students to practise in between sessions, so provide simple but effective tasks they can complete independently. A little bit of extra practise helps build reading and spelling fluency and ultimately confidence! If you would like to know more about how you can support your child at home, please speak to one of our team members.
SUPPORT FOR SCHOOL
Making a connection between your child’s teacher and their Read Write Success specialist is encouraged. We can also support you in advocating for your child to ensure they are given the support and accommodations they need in class.
